So! Some time ago I posted a playlist where you could find the women's hockey games, after they aired live. This was because the games were becoming "unlisted" after they aired live, and the only way to watch was if someone went in and watched (at least some) while it was live and kept the URL.

Now the PWHL itself is going through old games, editing them to remove commercials, and reuploading them for viewing after being aired live. So the old playlist won't work as those games as listed as being changed to 'private' -- but the PWHL itself has the games ready and able to be watched!

Hopefully this means they are paying attention to just how many folks really are watching!

If anyone is interested in watching the games from the new league, PWHL, there is a youtube playlist which has the links. PWHL is airing the games live, then unlisting them but if you have the link the game is still there to be watched.

The NWHL season starts this weekend, and the CWHL season started two weeks ago.

NWHL games can be streamed as always on the Cross Ice Pass with 19 games also being streamed on Twitter.

CWHL To Begin Paying It's Players (Globe & Mail)

As per the article:

Each player will make a minimum of $2,000 and a maximum of $10,000. Each of the league's seven clubs will get a $100,000 salary cap, and that pool of money will be divided among the players as each team sees fit.

Other than the gross title this was a really great interview. I particularly liked the bit where she basically called out a couple of common myths and misconceptions about women's hockey.
Maybe just speculation but it feels like HK was planning on playing in Sweden after college, because she said she learned to speak Swedish.

Laura Bowman, the most accomplished player in the history of Penn State women’s hockey, joined Jenna Welch on the short list of former Nittany Lions to sign a professional contract, according to GoPSUSports.

Penn State's all-time leader in both goals and points, Bowman inked a deal with the EHV Tigers Vienna on Thursday.

This is a great interview and Noora seems to have a lot of hope for the Chinese hockey market. Especially since the Chinese population is so high. It's interesting because it says she was hired as a hockey ambassador and not an athlete. I guess that fits with the CWHL's goal of providing career opportunities that may not always be in hockey. .

I think right here was the most interesting bit of the interview.

Have you ever seen a women’s hockey team run like this?
I don’t think so. Let’s say there was a female team under an NHL organization. I don’t think the female players would be sitting at the same table with the owner. In Toronto just after the announcement, we went out for dinner and we saw all the [Red Star] owners and the whole organization there. We now know the faces behind the names. And the men’s side and the women’s side work really closely together, and the whole organization is under one umbrella. [Red Star men’s head coach] Mike Keenan, [Phil] Esposito, [Bobby] Carpenter and those guys, they not only help on the men’s side but they’re advisors on the girls’ side too.
